The only problems is, those programs don't work, and to add insult to injury, you'll find yourself paying hefty fees to those companies, only to end up right where you started, or worse. Sometimes, what is couched as a credit repair program may actually be an attempt to steal your identity by gaining information about your social security number, bank accounts, and credit cards. Here's how the credit repair scam generally works:First, the company will contact the various credit bureaus and tell them that the negative information contained in your files is false. Since they want to accurately reflect your credit information, the credit bureaus will temporarily remove the negative information while they investigate the claims. Meanwhile, the scammer sends you a copy of your credit file, showing that the negative information has been removed, claiming that your credit history has now been repaired. It will seem like a miracle, until you learn that as soon as the credit bureaus have completed their investigation, any accurate negative information will be returned to your credit report, and you'll be back where you started, minus the fees that you paid to the scammer. The key concept to remember when it comes to your credit report is that accurate entries will stay on that report for seven years from the time they're reported to the credit agencies. Bankruptcies stay on a report for fourteen years. From the Federal Trade Commission WebsiteCredit Repair: How to Help YourselfYou see the advertisements in newspapers, on TV, and on the Internet. You hear them on the radio. You get fliers in the mail, and maybe even calls offering credit repair services. They all make the same claims:“Credit problems? No problem!”“We can remove bankruptcies, judgments, liens, and bad loans from your credit file forever!”“We can erase your bad credit — 100% guaranteed.”“Create a new credit identity — legally.”The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says do yourself a favor and save some money, too. Don’t believe these claims: they’re very likely signs of a scam. Indeed, attorneys at the nation’s consumer protection agency say they’ve never seen a legitimate credit repair operation making those claims. The fact is there’s no quick fix for creditworthiness. You can improve your credit report legitimately, but it takes time, a conscious effort, and sticking to a personal debt repayment plan. Recognizing a Credit Repair ScamEveryday, companies target consumers who have poor credit histories with promises to clean up their credit report so they can get a car loan, a home mortgage, insurance, or even a job once they pay them a fee for the service. The truth is, these companies can’t deliver an improved credit report for you using the tactics they promote. It’s illegal: No one can remove accurate negative information from your credit report. So after you pay them hundreds or thousands of dollars in fees, you’re left with the same credit report and someone else has your money. If you see a credit repair offer, here’s how to tell if the company behind it is up to no good:The company wants you to pay for credit repair services before they provide any services. Under the Credit Repair Organizations Act, credit repair companies cannot require you to pay until they have completed the services they have promised. The company doesn’t tell you your rights and what you can do for yourself for free. The company recommends that you do not contact any of the three major national credit reporting companies directly. The company tells you they can get rid of most or all the negative credit information in your credit report, even if that information is accurate and current. The company suggests that you try to invent a “new” credit identity — and then, a new credit report — by applying for an Employer Identification Number to use instead of your Social Security number. The company advises you to dispute all the information in your credit report, regardless of its accuracy or timeliness. If you follow illegal advice and commit fraud, you may find yourself in legal hot water, too: It’s a federal crime to lie on a loan or credit application, to misrepresent your Social Security number, and to obtain an Employer Identification Number from the Internal Revenue Service under false pretenses. You could be charged and prosecuted for mail or wire fraud if you use the mail, telephone, or Internet to apply for credit and provide false information.

calls persist from this ANI, same message as noted in previous entries.  Typical lead in for advance fee credit card scam, they give you stolen credit card number to charge for goods/services, then ask that you charge an extra amount to be paid to the "courier" in cash.  Not only do you get ripped off for the goods/services, you also get hit for (unknowingly) processing a stolen credit card number!

This must be a new way to scam people --- recorded message demands you e-mail 'cynthia_scott48 @ yahoo.com'   Received multiple calls, starting at 6:30AM.No company ID or reason for the call.  Caller ID is blank.  No return number is left, and reverse directories do not provide ID as to who the number belongs to.Attempts to return the call by phone ends up in a phone boiler room. One can only imagine the scam that must be running, because responding via e-mail could be taken as your confirmation that you purchased a service, or worse.

Tim Clang, called our Firm asking for one of our attorney's regarding how he can customize our website. I advised him "it was not proper protocol to ask for the attorney. You would ask for the advertising dept., but unfortunetly we do not accept solicitors". It seems as if more and more illegal businesses are popping up from Arizona. word to the wise if you have a business and you are n the verge of calling a law firm and it happens to be me that answers the phone, stop right where you are and don't call. I have the FTC, FCC amd The BBB. So don't call.

Looks to me like another scam from "Premium Destinations".  Just for the heck of it I went to one of their presentations last year - they promised a free Android tablet.  I was in research mode at the time so I figured it might be worth 90 minutes to get the free item.  The presentation was the same crap you always get: 60 minute "dream" session where they tell you how much travel and fun you'll get for VASTLY less money than people who don't have a clue, then they try to set the hook and get you to buy a $10,000 membership so you can save HUGE amounts of money on hotels and cruises.  Pure bunk.  At the end of the presentation (after I'd said "no" 2 or 3 times) they brought in the "Manager" to try and get the deal.  I looked him straight in the eyes and said "My no is ABSOLUTE".  He then looked down his nose and said "You don't DESERVE" this program.I did get the tablet.  It was a $50 piece of Chinese junk. The lesson I've learned over the years is this: NO ONE is going to give you a (pick one): Free Vacation, Free Cruise, Free Car. (You can add to this list if you like) ;-)
