just had the same SOB give me the same run down as everyone else, but i was specificly told that a hotel stay at any Ramada hotel was to be "awarded" to me. Contacted Ramada to check this scam out and they were very upset that thier name is being used in this scam. They intend to investigate. I think that they are very concerd and will probably use expensive resources i.e. shark eating lawyers, investigators, ect. to clear thier name and save thier reputation and consiquently these  jerks may get a little more trouble than they expected.

I did receive this call yesterday same indian accent and claiming to be calling from Buffalo. I told him to give me his number and I will call him back after I check with Phone Busters (RCMP). He asked me what RCMP was and I told him that it was Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He asked me to hold while he gets the supervisor and ofcourse he hung up..

I just received a call. Very similar to everything that has been written here. He -- in an Indian accent -- said that I had filled out a coupon on 18 December and was guaranteed to win one of 5 prizes. He said I would have to go to the center at Hwy 7 and Weston Road. (He was calling from Buffalo. I am in Toronto.)I pressed him about where he was. He said he was in Buffalo but would not give me an address. When I complained about the poor phone connection -- he kept going in and out -- he said it was because they use VOIP phones.

We just received a call from NGC, who finally said it was the National Gifting Center. Same strong Indian accent. When pressed for details of what we had won, or what the prize was for, we were passed to a "supervisor." Another Indian accent who this time asked us to confirm phone number and address. We did not - don't forget, don't give out personal information over the phone, even to "confirm" something! Also said they were calling from New York. We asked them not to call again and to remove our number from their lists. We're also on the do not call list. Does anyone know if we can file an FTC complaint?

Same for all of these except with a small twist.I know for a fact it's false because I *never* fill in any such competition forms.  Further, they kept saying this form was dated 16 December. A search on this so-called agency reveals that it seems everyone they called filled it in on the same date (or 18th Dec in some cases).  Unfortunately for them my entire family was out of the country at that time so it was impossible.  Gotcha!I asked about this pickup meeting (a local address).  They said it'd be about an hour and a half - first information on the details, and then "free refreshments", and then a ceremony.  I specifically if this was a seminar for time shares or similar, and they denied it.I have the address and time so I might go to see what it is.  However I did managed to get the guy to hang up on me after asking for the 3rd time "well if you won't go, what should I do with your prizes".

I got a call from a person with an Indian accent claiming to be from the "National Gifting Center".  I kept him on the phone for 30 minutes.  They want to give me a free gift because I was the "legal winner" in one of their contests.Surprisingly enough, they gave me a local address to pick up my prize, but I had to come at a certain time, and bring my wife.I will check it out at my own leisure.I was also "transferred" to a supervisor to confirm my identity.  The supervisor also had an Indian accent, and said his name is Jack Johnson (yeah right) and his number is 716-524-9957.They called me back again today and asked why I did not go to their meeting.

May 30, 2007. This time they blocked ANI/CLID. Said he was calling from the National Gifting Center in Buffalo NY. I asked him how the weather was (as I am close to Buffalo - in Toronto). He was stumped for a moment - then I asked him what the time was in Buffalo. He got stumped again. I asked him if he was calling from Mumbai. He said noI heard about 500 other guys in the background (from this call center in Mumbai, NY:). Asked if I filled out a ballot - said I could claim a range of prizes - cruises, 60-inch plazma TV - finally offered $1,000 cash. I d****d him around so much he got frustrated. I told him not to call back.

I received a very similar call today.  I am in TX, and the guy (with a thick Indian accent) stated he was in Michigan.  He told me that either myself or my husband filled out a form on December 18.  I know this is not true because we never fill out these types of forms.  The first guy transferred me to his "supervisor".  I knew from the beginning this was going to be some "promo" thing where they want you to sit in a vacation timeshare meeting.  The "supervisor" confirmed that this was such a meeting.  Anyway....  After asking for a phone number he gave me 877-204-9750 (which is disconnected).  I did not listen long enough to get the local address to go hear their "talk", as I have no intention of joining a timeshare.  My husband and I attended a very similar presentaiton in Las Vegas with the promise of free show tickets.  If you go, be prepared for a VERY high pressure sales presentation and you may or may not get the "prizes" promised to you.  Good luck!

Thank you Andy and everyone else who posted about National Gifting Center. I got a call yesterday from "Angel" who had a very heavy accent and was difficult to understand. He said I had filled out a form at .....mumble mumble... which I didn't remember doing, but I do sometimes enter contests, so....  I listened to about 15 minutes of description and assurances that the prizes (roundtrip air for two anywhere in the US, two nights in hotel of choice, good for one year) were all prepaid by sponsors Ramada, Toshiba, and American Airlines. They were doing this for advertising purposes and what they asked in return is that we would refer friends and contacts to these companies. There would be no fees or costs to us.I sort of agreed to go at 4:45 pm today at an address in Portland, ME about 20-30 minutes from my home. Same deal as others reported about needing 2 pieces of ID, filling out gift claim form, claim number given, husband had to come too, refreshments and "gifting ceremony." However, today I searched the internet and found all of these postings and reminded myself that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true. Today I talked to "Angel" and told him we weren't coming. When he tried to set up another day etc I told him I had read unfavorable reports about the offer on the internet. He hung up. I feel very relieved not to have wasted our time on some scheme we would never have signed up to participate in anyway. Thanks again!

I'm in Houston and he said he was calling from Houston the first time.  After several questions I got the name of Destiny Vacations so I figured we would have to hear a travel club spiel before we got the promised prize which was a 52 inch LG HDTV or a Caribbean cruise.  I said I'll take the tv he said sure no problem. He further stated we would see the gifts on the left when we got there and there would be a complimentary chicken dinner.  (In other words he kept digging a bigger hole)  We decided to go.  When we got there they never asked us for our confirmation codes which were very important according to the phone guy.  We were ushered into a room with about 12 couples each sitting at a round table and assigned one salesman to talk with each couple.  Some had been told 20 mins, some 10 mins.  When we got there they said 90 mins.  But the main guy promised he could do a presentation in 35 minutes to all of us.  It was entertaining. However, the deal was, for $9,000 you could become a member of ResortOne and buy wholesale travel for the rest of your life and if you signed today all your family and friends could too and you could even put the membership in your will. yadayadayada. The promise is that you will then buy travel and cruises wholesale for the rest of  your life and more than compensate for the one time $9,000 plus a $299 registration fee and a $179 yearly maintenance fee.  Our guy looked like "Guido" Striped shirt, cufflinks, Doublebreasted suit, the whole bit.  When we said we would have to check them out that we were not going to commit that kind of money up front without some research  and that when I checked out Destiny vacations, prior to coming, it was not accredited by the BBB and in fact was an F.  "Guido" asked what would I need to check them out and I said a computer and he said fine I'll let you use my lap top. I said O.K. We were ushered into another room where the "manager" talked to us and had a story of how the BBB was started by the Mafia in Chicago and if he wanted an "A" rating all he would have to do is pay the BBB money to join.  I never saw the lap top and was given a scratch off deal and won a Cruise.  But I would have to pay to a process fee plus all the port fees etc. and a $50 non-refundable reservation fee.  But travel times could not be guaranteed during peak use and we got an inside cabin by the bulkhead which could be upgraded for a fee.  "Guido" didn't know of any TV's and of course there was no chicken dinner.  Didn't even smell any chicken but I do smell a RAT.Two hours later I got a call from the same Indian guy saying he was just down the street checking out how things went.  Then he couldn't give me a valid Houston address as I checked each address on-line as he gave it to me.  He wanted the voucher# on the cruise coupon so he could register my complaints.  I said no.  Two days later (today) I have now had 3-4 phone calls trying to get the same voucher number (I finally gave them the one they gave me to go in the first place)  I assume they use those numbers to get paid for the ones they called that showed up.  If they had the voucher number from the cruise coupon they could then book the cruise and then sell it at a mark-up etc. (Which Guido told me we could do with our travel membership also.  Book travel for friends at our cost and then mark it up for them)  I've written down the numbers as the calls came in and traced one to Merced CA. I'm waiting on a reverse number check to see who it is registered too.  When he called from that number he said he was in Roundhill VA.  At first they told me they were the National Souvenir Center and I couldn't find anything on them except a company out of Korea.  Today they said National Gifting Center and that is when I found this website.  The old saying comes to mind.  What tangled web we weave when we first attempt to deceive.  I checked ResortOne on-line and found a pretty website but you have to be a member to log-on.  There was no contact information including phone number or address.  Destiny Vacations is supposed to be the only authorized Franchise in Houston for ResortOne.  I have a feeling this web is bigger then even I'm seeing.

Chris, you intended to "go see them" - did you?  Could you tell me what it was like?  I got "the call" and am immensely curious to find out for sure what it's all about.  Strange thing is that everybody reports the calls but how do we all know it is in fact a scam?  I'd like to hear from somebody who went to one of these sessions and would really really appreciate to get your report -- a report from a person who was sceptical, initally.

FreePhoneLine.ca uses the 283 exchange - use an abundance of caution here; surveys are OK but can be lead-ins to scam/set up info for later.  Probably not sinister and someone's low-budget way of gauging a political situation and using modern technology to keep overhead low, but ya never know.  Thx 2 this site, btw. -- Stallion Horse *friendly nickers*
