Report by Dan Long ago Unknown
You ran into problems and they helped you...? You're FOS !  I spent TWO YEARS trying to get a loan modification from BOA, and ultimately all they did was help themselves to my home...And I'm a 30+ year employee !  Go "sting" yourself Scorpio....
Report by carol Long ago Unknown
I don't do business with this criminal organization, never have and never will. They call me anyway so I sent a certified cease and desist letter! Now when they call THEY have to pay THEIR bills!
Report by catwdhc Long ago Unknown
Just an FYI, because I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation....I do pay my bills, but to a different bank, because I don't have and never have had an account with BOA.  I've told them this before.  I even verified that the person they are looking for is not part of my family and that I have no idea who they are.  I was assured that they would stop calling.  They did for a while and now it's started up again, not once a day, but several times a day.  I'm sorry someone is not paying their bill, but that doesn't mean my family should be harassed when they've been informed that there is a mistake some where.  That mistake is not my fault, therefore they need to get it figured out.
Report by Casey Long ago Unknown
I have to agree with Leyla..  Pay your mortgage on time and you won't have problem.  I have had BOA since 97' and when I call they are always professional and helpful.  I ran into problems and they helped me.  I did loan modification and only took a few months.

This is BofA calling.  Because the caller ID said "Loan Counseling" I can't be sure that it's actually BofA.  So I told them unless they could tell me WHY they were calling, I would not verify the information they were asking for.  My loan is in EXCELLENT standing, I have never paid late.  There is NO reason for them to call me sixteen times a day.  I told them if they had any issues with my account to send it in writing, and then I hang up.  Every time.  I finally got tired of telling them to screw themselves so I blocked their number.

Just called me its 6:51PM.  Have a loan through B.of America.  Did you guys know that in the Los Angeles area they just hired 25 attorneys to fight loan fraud.  http://www.crimebullet.com

Yeah, and it's almost ALWAYS a scam! They sit on your check for a month & then say you're late to attempt to collect bogus late fees from you. DON'T PAY THESE FEES! It just makes it worse for everyone! They are just trying to steal extra money & our LAME government is allowing them to do it! They will say they never got a check & then when you re-send it, or pay it over the phone, they'll try & cash the original check. if you haven't stopped payment on the original, your account will be overdrawn & they'll blame you. These people should be arrested & put in prison.

For sure BOA outside collection for late payments on the mortgage. Kinda funny I have never missed a payment but have pushed to the 30 day line due to unemployment for 1 1/2 years but the payment is always made before the 30 day late kicks in but they sure get there 89 dollar fee to be late.Had a good conversation going until he asked me if I was seeking work told him to kiss my a** and hung up.stupid people should not breed!Just looking for a fee for his company to set up payment thru them.I believe they are under contract not actual BOA employee

That number is a scam.  I received an email announcing an "account alert" and an urgent request to call the 800 number.  Don't do it.  They've purloined Bank of America's logo and verbage.  I called my local branch of Bank of America and they looked up my account and let me know that they have not sent any such emails out.  If you get one, report it to abuse@bankofamerica.com.

Seems like a lot of people here in denial about being late on a Bank of America loan!
Report by MG Long ago Unknown
It is Bank of America who also bought out many other loans. They could also be calling for someone who listed you on their account. Never give out your information though to anyone who calls you over the phone. If you know you have an account with them, call back the number they provided you on a bill. Tell the person calling you, thank you for notifying me, I will use the number given to me to deal with this matter.

I've been receiving calls from this 800# for wks. Once and a while, they'll leave msgs but t's pretty creepy b/c you can hear someone breathing and there is a loud TV in the background then they'll just hang up. Did any of you guys experience this? It sounds like they're calling from their home and not a place of business. It was really creeping me out until i read this post. I don't know how to get them to stop. They'll call me in the evening and wkends... They're relentless.

I have received several telephone calls from 800-669-0102. I told several callelrs not to call my number anymore, however, I continue to get calls.  The callers claims they are from Bank of America and told me my daughter and son in law have a mortgage with Bank of America. This is not true! The caller would not leave a name or number to return the call. This is obviously a scam.

If it is Countrywide, why would they be calling if they sold the loan to Bank of America?  Does anyone know?
Report by Kathryn Long ago Unknown
Countrywide Mortgage was bought out by Bank of America so this could be because of a Countrywide account, a Bank of America credit card account, or I suppose, a solicitation.
Report by ticked Long ago Unknown
I finally answered the phone after they had been blowing it up. They claim there bank of america and that they are collections. I am totally current on my payments. They wanted my last name at last 4 digits of SSN. I told them to stop calling me and I would call my bank... we will see.
Report by Mr T Long ago Unknown
(I move this post up to the front)I received these calls, too.  I "googled" it, and it is a Bank of America phone number - they bought Countrywide Loans.  I do NOT have a loan with them, but the previous owner of my new phone number did.  I initially could not get past the automated phone system without a loan number.  Just call the number and put in a fake loan number, followed by the pound sign.  It tricks the system into thinking you actually have a loan with them.  Then you can speak to a live person and stop the harrassment!
Report by Laura Sullivan Long ago Unknown
Same thing.  I just reported them to the B of A abuse email.  I assume they are doing nothing about it since your post is weeks old.
Report by Teresa Long ago Unknown
They call me everyday. When I first started getting the calls I thought it was BofA, since I have been waiting on their response for my modification for over a year. We stopped paying both mortgages this year. Our house is worth 257000, we paid 458000. At 3%/year it would come back to zero after ~18 years. I really don't care anymore. We have tried and tried and tried to communicate effectively with BofA. Every single time I call I have to go through the whole story again, I sent them our Hardship Letter 8 times! Kept all receipts. Every time I have received correspondence from them, I have responded quickly and professionally, providing to the T what they have requested. They say call back in 2 weeks. I call back in 2 weeks and we are back to the beginning of this paragraph. I'm done... I have also spoken to the 1-800 people and have realized it is not BofA, but a 3rd party debt collector. They call me everyday. Now I answer 'Bueno' They ask for me and I say 'Como?' quien es? come mierda y muere te!
Report by Nance Long ago Unknown
The said they were from Bank of America, my mortgage holder. Right off the bat they asked for the last four digits of my Social Security number. No way. I reported the incident to the police and to Bank of America.

Report by Rob Long ago Unknown
I second that jjvan70. I finally called BofA and they said there are no such debt calls being made by them. Also they are recieving complaints about this. Also when these people first started calling they were asking for my ex-husband, but mangling the pronunciation so badly that I thought they were asking for me (our names are similar), then they immediately asked for my social security number without even telling me why. What legitimate bill collector does that? None that I know of. And all of my efforts at telling them eventually, that I wasn't the person that they're looking for, ignoring them, hanging up on them, etc. were to no avail. I was finally able to simply block them from calling. Thank you Time Warner!!!

It does not matter if the home was awarded to your husband along with the debt if you are in a community property state.  Creditors don't care who was assigned the loan - if you are ON the loan, you are OBLIGATED to pay the loan unless and until it's refinanced.  Seek some legal advice.
Report by gothceltgirl Long ago Unknown
I continue to get these calls daily and the home was given to my ex husband in the divorce with no obligation at all for me to pay it per the judge, so leave me alone!!!!  Call him and harrass him the way you are me!!!!!!! I have sent the papers to the court and to the lender.   I have no obligation at all to pay this loan as my name is to be removed per the court order.  I do not have possession of the home, do not live in it and am not paying for him to live in it.  I am the victim of domestic violence and nearly lost my life getting away from this man!!!!  I lost everything I own to him, so go after him and let me live my life, he has the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will send a cease and desist letter if you do not stop!!!!
Report by jjvan70 Long ago Unknown
ok, this is not true.  My husband told me BOA called three times today and asked him for our address and loan amount to verify he was who he said he was but he doesn't have the loan amount info so they wouldn't talk to him...even though his name is on the loan.  So, when I got off work, I called the BOA number I have saved in my cell and talked to a really nice rep who looked at my account and said that she wasn't showing that anyone from there had called my home and that if they had, they wouldn't have asked for our loan amount because they have that info.  She said that anytime I get a call like that to not give personal information out and to call their main number to insure that it, in fact, is BOA.  Since then, they've called again but I didn't get to the phone before they hung up - that makes 5 times today.

This number keeps calling my elderly aunt and uncle on a daily basis asking for someone that they do not know.  I have answered numerous times and have asked to speak to the supervisor.  They say to please hold and either hang up on me or put someone on and when I ask for their name then they hang up.  My aunt has asked them each time to remove her number from their list and they assure her it will be done.  So, since you are full of helpful information about B of A, please tell me who I contact to have this matter cleared up.  I call the numbers back and get nothing but recordings with no option to "speak" to a live person.

Let me tell you all something. I work for Bof A and this is our number we use to call people that have loans with us. Number one it does not have to be 18 digits long. Some of them are but previous countrywide etc... are not 18 digits.  It is not a scam number you could call the better business bureau and check the number out to make sure it is the actual company. If you do have a loan with BoA and you owe money yes you will continue to get collection calls until you are caught up. For those of you that are not the person they ask for inform them more escalate the call to a higher person rather than trusting some word from a rep.

800-669-0102 = Bank of America collections dept (mortgages).  Nine months ago, BAC sold my account to CitiMortgage.  Spent 40 minutes on hold and shuffled through BAC customer service, collections, and "escalations"...each dept wanted to transfer me to another.  Result: they admitted a mistake yet I have to write a letter for a cease and desist "order" to stop collection actions (e.g. phone calls) on a closed account.  Best of luck to anyone else in this situation.

Report by gentlezepher Long ago Unknown
Most of the larger customer service departments outsource to foreign countries since labor is cheaper.  This is why you get a lot of Indian speaking agents for cable, internet, computer issues as well as mortgages and other types of loans. Most debt collectors are within the USA but in major cities where the demographics contain a high rate of latino or non english speaking people.  They will work for cheaper pay than the average person and it's commission based.  Meaning if you agree to pay, they make more money.By law you are not required to pay a third party creditor unless they have the original contract with your signature.  They buy default loans for pennies then try to recoup.  Any major financial institute has insurance to cover financial losses, so they get paid when you default.  So essentially you'd be paying the debt twice. If they dont have your original contract, youre not obligated by law to pay.  Otherwise I or anyone could call you and say you owe me the money you defaulted on from a previous loan.  The law is on the consumers side, it's just the consumer doesnt usually know how to go about it.Not that I'm advocating not paying your bills… that's why the economy is in the situation it's in but for those less than honest debt collectors, this is effective way to get rid of them.  Also you tell them you want ALL communication in writing (for a paper trail) and that you will not answer anything over the phone only in writing.  By law, they must honor your request, and they can get mad or curse or say your unwilling to pay and will take you to court but again, if that was the case they would have already done it.Many states have a one consent law which enables the consumer to record conversations as long as tey are conversations that relate to that consumer directly.  This is why many pre-recorded messages say the call may or may not be recorded for customer service reviews for training.  They have to make that statement in case your state doesn't recognize recording conversations… but many states do under specific circumstances.  VA & DC do recognize the 1 consent law.  You don't have to tell them you are recording them if they make threats but if you do tell them, they will curse and hang up.  Don't avoid creditors, answer phone, be calm, make it fun.  You don't have to be rude or nasty, just calmly make your statement of all communication needs to be in writing, this call is being recorded (they will try to say you cant do that so check your state laws first cause many times you can but they cant)who cares if they get rude, laugh at them.  The laws on the consumers side, not theirs.  They have to prove you owe THEM the debt… not the other way around.
Report by Ernie Long ago Unknown
Oh and btw they sounded like they were from India.  So must be a farmed out deal.  I am sure they probably debt collect for Country Wide and numerous other banks.  Hanging up on people is so effective...NOT.

I called this number and found a way to get someone on the phone.  They told me they are debt collectors for Bank of America.  They have been calling me everyday and when I answer they hang up on me.  They were calling for my boyfriends ex-wife whom he divorced 4 years ago and she had his number listed.  He said he would take it off and I let him know that I will be complaining to Bank of America for having debt collectors that harrass you by hanging up on you everyday and not even talking to you.  So word of advice.  Don't use Bank of America if they are going to associated with a company that harrasses innocent people.

When they call me on Sunday ... I tell them that "Sunday is a day of rest so take a rest & leave us alone on this God's Day of Rest! Thank you & Good Bye!" Maybe if all of us told them that, maybe they'd stop calling us on Sunday at least! I don't think anyone other then friends & family should call you on Sunday & expect us to answer their call! Look, it's our phone & we have the right to NOT answer our phones on Sunday or any other day if we don't want to talk to that person! It is NOT against the law if you don't answer your phone! You don't have to answer you phone, if you don't want to! If you decide to, then the person of the other end should be as nice as can be that you allowed them to talk to you on that day, weather it be Sunday or any-day!

This is indeed B of A. They took over many mortgages from CountryWide Financial and are now the mortgage holders for many of those accounts. The number used to answer CountryWide but not now. I had a mortgage with CountryWide from 1999 until ? Bank of America did not notify mortgage holders of when they took over, they just took over and began sending payment coupons. This is legit, much as I hate B of A, this is a real mortgage dept. Sorry to busrt your bubble

The number is indeed a number for Bank of America .  Why would you lie and tell people it isnt?
Report by Ernie Long ago Unknown
They had this scam by BNA online not too long ago. They not only used the backdoor to get our mortgages from County WIde, but there is another fraud they are scamming their mortgage customers with. It's with the homeowners insurance. They call or write you to show them proof of homeowners insurance. After you let them know what you have, they will tell you that your homeowners insurance coverage is not enough which is b***s***. Anno matter what you say or how you fight them, they even push the issue to "arrange a lenders insurance policy"charging your esrow account the full amount for homeowners insurance you did not authorize. Meanwhile, they just took your money, paid their employees a kickback because someone in BNA actually owns that "Homeowners Lenders Policy" insurance company which got the rest of your "insurance coverage" money. And they do not even tell you who that company is or what they cover in writing like you get from your regular insurance provider. They send you no proof in writing of what you are paying for.
Report by texasdeb Long ago Unknown
No...you are wrong. Multiple lenders were closed down by the Feds for fraud. Some of these included Fannie Mae, Fraddy Mac, Country Wide, Taylor Bean & Whitaker, and many, many more.Bank of America has bought these accounts. Which, by the way, is why my house is now going into foreclosure. BofA said Taylor Bean screwed up and they needed more money from ME to make up the difference in my escrow. They then "didn't receive the insurance information" from the take over and they gave me THEIR homeowners and flood insurance which is 3 times higher than my regular insurance. OK...right now I'm getting very angry so I think I will just answer the question.Anyhoo...they don't have your loan in the system because either your loan has been bought & sold so many times...they can't find it. OR it's being held by the Feds as evidence and I don't even think BofA has it.
Report by Mike Long ago Unknown
You calling in to a short sale department does not take your number out of the collections dialer.  You can and probably will be called the same day.  To be honest, and no one is, they did not ask you for your social security number, the asked you for the last four digits, and that's all they can see.  If you call them back they will ask you for the last 4 digits of your social.Bottom line, if you have a mortgage with BoA and it's past the 1st of the month and you haven't paid they will call.  If you are in serious default then you are already expecting the call... short sale, your were expecting it.   Pro-tip, verify the account, be polite and speak to the rep for a minute or two.  They will have to document they spoke to you, and can't call again (that day, or maybe even a few days)  If you are rude or hang up they will have check boxes to indicate that action and the computer dialer will put you at the top of the list to call again in an hour or so.  Pretend it's not you and take a message, no more calls that day.  If they say "we can call back", say no, I'll take a message.

I have gotten a number of calls that I refuse to give out personal info. The best thing is tell the people that call that the # they called can't be used for personal calls and give them another number. I ALWAYS give them the number of the local police and I never hear from then again. Learn to play their game
Report by Cranky Mullet Long ago Unknown
Never give anyone who calls you, your information over the phone. If they claim they are Bank of America  (or whoever), tell them thank you for notifying me, I will call Bank of America myself. Get out your bill or go to BoA website and talk to them that way. Even if you are sure you have an account with someone, always call back a number you were given when you made the account. A bank will never ask for an entire social security number over the phone, they will ask for last 4 digits. However, you can call and say that you would like to set up a password so that you don't have to use your last 4 ss.
Report by Nigel Long ago Unknown
This was the call back for someone claiming to be BOA, I wonder though. Wanted my last 4 digits of SSN, it is easy to reconstruct entire sequence from last 4 numbers. I suspect it is identity theft or malicious in nature. How many legitimate callers ask for personal info FIRST to verify who you are? You have no idea who is on the other end. If it was loan related it would be mail that they used.
Report by D Long ago Unknown
They called claiming to be B of A but when I advised we had already spoken to them and were trying to negotiate a short sell she told me that she needed our social security numbers in order to note the account?? The best thing to do is hire an attorney and let them speak to BofA on your behalf.  The average citizen won't get anything but the run-around.  When they see you have someone working for you that can look up their a** and find out if, in fact, they even have the ORIGINAL mortgage on your home, which they legally MUST have, they will stop trying to intimidate you.  You have got to have legal help on YOUR side.  Most of the homes are under water to begin with.  Good luck and don't take it lying down.  They got a butt load of money out of us, the taxpayer, and now they want to treat us like criminals.  I don't think so.  Everyone needs to fight BofA.  First of all, my original loan was not with them, it was then sold to Countrywide who then sold it to BofA. Does anyone really think they have their paperwork in order on all those loans that were bundled up and sold to them.  I don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am doing the exact same thing. Do not even try to do it yourself, you must have an attorney that specializes in this. I have spoken to a lot of people that went into this themselves and they all just gave up and walked away from their mortgages. It can get too complicated for your average layman to accomplish. We hired a law firm, U.S. Foreclosure Relief, out of Fresno, Ca., sent a letter to B o A giving them the phone no. & name of the attorney representing us and to reference all further communications to them. It has worked wonders. Our attorney has been working this for almost 2 yrs. She called 2 weeks ago and said it looks like our interest will drop from 8 1/4% to around 2 1/2% cutting our monthly payments way less than half of what they were. We were on the verge of losing our place & this law firm put an immediate halt to that. Please, I implore you, get an attorney. Make sure they are not a fly-by-night scam firm, but one that has been in business for years in the same place, and get references if possible. You will only pay about $2,000.00 for their services, but well worth it. I hope this helps.

BofA is a joke. Once they purchased CW they moved my account over to there system and lost my payment on my house. I get calls from these people all the time. I also called them about making home affordable program that is a federal program what a joke. They put me into it and said that they are sending me a packet to fill out. I never got the packet and they added escrow to my loan so they raised my home loan about $440 per month and never revived my packet. I have been fighting with these guys for 4 months about this and still no resolution does anybody have any suggestions for me. I am pulling my hair out BofA make life unbearable for hardworking people.

Don't forget that BofA got a LARGE Bailout of OUR tax payers money, and yet, they still make all these nasty calls to tax payers to get more money even when you pay your loans on time so they can claim that they are making more money since they got their bailout money! I HATE BofA, and their policies! They are NOT Customer Service oriented at all!

Also if you can't pay your home insurance under an FHA loan then BOA has to supply the insurance themselves. However, here is their scam...they buy insurance from Balboa Insurance in California and it is double in price. My lawyer looked it up and found out that Balboa stands for Balance - Bank of America and is owned by Bank of America. That way they drive your escrow up which increases your payment by almost a third higher. The biggest crooks in America right now are the national banks and the number one thief, Bank of America, took our bail out tax money and used it to keep their crooked business going. There is a class action suit that was settled against FIA Card Sevices owed by Bank of America or BOA. Contact http://www.FrederickAdministrator.com or call 877-434-3070 to see if you have any money coming from them. It was for them raising your loan interest rate illegally.

They not only used the backdoor to get our mortgages from County WIde, but there is another fraud they are scamming their mortgage customersw ith. Meanwhile, they just took your money, paid their employees a kickback because someone in BNA actually owns that "Homeowners Lenders Policy" insurance company. And they do not even tell you who that company is or what they cover in writing like you get from your regular insurance provider. They send you no proof in writing of what you are paying for.

I understand that MERS has about 60% of loans registered.  Not every loan is a MERS loan.  MERS began about the mid-1990s and so won't have loans registered prior to then either.

Very goof info.I just went to their web-site. They do state they want to register every loan in the country. What is up with these people??It was a lot of info. My loan is with BofA. I am curious how can a person fight the mortgage if there is no information in the MERS system. We have a mtg. through B of A but no information under any of the searches shows. We get a reply that says no MINs can be found. It also says that they would have information IF the servicer chooses to provide it. That tells me that it is not required to be in their system. Can you please explain further what you are meaning? Our loan number is no where near 18 digits. Thanks!
Report by Lou Long ago Unknown
People! Check your loan number: it MUST BE 18-DIGITS, if less - your loan is BOGUS, which originated by employees from "your" Bank with purpose to collect money in their OWN pockets. Sue the banks. Check your Mortgage at National System "MERS". If no SERVICER FOUND: house is YOURS forever. Stop pay anything, when they start FORECLOSURE file Counterclaim for few millions. And you will win. No servicer - no case! Good luck!

But there is another issue you've overlooked. Cell phone or Landline is no exception when it comes to this. They do not dial the numbers themselves. They use a computer that dials any combination of telephone numbers for them and that will bypass those on the do not call registry.
Report by Chris Long ago Unknown
If you list your cell phone number w/any business, creditors can access the database and retrieve your number.  It's not that hard.  People forget how many times they give out their cells and home numbers and wonder how people get them. Also the major carriers publish your phones and sell the info even if they claim not to, there are ways they do it that don't violate any confidentiality.

I have received several gold envelopes on my front door from Bank of America.  I have a securitized mortgage which started with America's Wholesale Lender with Countrywide Mortgage as the Servicer.  Now Bank of America calls saying they are a debt collector but they do not have a clue who owns my mortgage because my home was sold on Wall Street in 2007.  MERS calls Bank of New York Mellon the Investor but they are not the investor.  Bank of New York is the Trustee and has wrote me multiple times to tell me they do not know who owns or holds the note.  The residence has been turned into a Bond and split up into a pool CWABS 2007-2 and sold in pieces.  Bank of New York said they have no say in loan modifications, nor do the physically own the property or the note.  Bank of America can not tell me who they are a debt collector for.  MERS is not a owner or holder of the note and America's Wholesale Lender was never a true Countrywide Corporation or a Member of MERS.  So the 800-669-0102 number that keeps putting notices on my door needs to stop.  Especially when the guy who came to the door is all tatted up, has ear phones hanging out his ears, looks dishonest as hell and when he knocks at the door he acts like he is scoping out the house.  Bank of America needs to come clean and tell borrowers who they are collecting a debt for.  It is not MERS, and it is not Bank of New York

They will tell you that your payment is due on the 1st and they consider it late on the 2nd, even though they are not charging you a late fee.  However, since it is not 30 days late, it does not show up on your credit report.  So they will call and bother you unless you put in a complaint with them .   I sent them a nasty letter and they stopped, but it took a couple of months to get them to stop calling.  Even after the complaint, they will start calling again in a couple of months.  Really annoying for those of us that can't pay on or before the 1st.

cmickie speaks the truth. Exact same issue here. Since getting gobbled up by BOA our payment date of the 15th, as had been the case for years prior to BOA, has essentially been moved without our approval so I get daily calls from them for the first two weeks of every month. My wife has discussed it with them and they just don't seem to give a damn. Talking a bunch of garbage about 'the system does it that way' as though it's IMPOSSIBLE to modify it to serve THE CUSTOMER! THIS is the kind of thing the Occupy movement should be latching on to in addition to a very long list of corporate bullying and customer disregard that would most likely be more than a mile long in the fine print they foist on us. Add to that 'convenience fees' by the likes of Verizon, pizza delivery joints and countless others. THIS needs to stop, we're paying customers not the enemy!

Report by laura Long ago Unknown
It is all based on the 'bulk purchase' of the loans from Countrywide and the use of the "MERS" system.  It is currently being challenged by the NY AG's office.  Note this to them when they call and it will get their attention.  I am working on a loan mod now as my mother lives in the house that I own.  I am reducing the loan to current FMV since these jackaloons were the ones that hyper inflated the market...made billions...kept the billions, then when the loans failed...they got bailed out so they did not lose money.  Now its my turn.  Cut and paste this link for details on the isse:http://warisacrime.org/content/ny-attorney-ge ... ase-wells-fargo

Report by Marloun Long ago Unknown
They are trying to get you to Modify your Mortgage because they committed Fraud when they purchased the accounts from Countrywide. Customers are finding out about this and are getting a Satisfaction of Mortgage because of what they did and if they get you to Modify your Mortgage making them legally your Mortgage Servicer then you can not get a Satisfaction of Mortgage because of their illegal ways of getting your accounts. I got my Satisfaction of Mortgage filed today and I no longer have a Mortgage and I owed $153,000 on my Mortgage when I got my SOA. They can not produce your original Blue ink Promissary Note that was supposed to be signed over to them when they purchased your account. the Promissary Note is the IOU that states you owe the money and if they can not produce that to prove you owe the money then a SOA is filed. I just did this process myself and now the calls have stopped.

They're doing the exact same thing to us.  Our mortgage is due on the 1st, but there is a 16 day grace period, we've paid on the 8th the last two months, but the "collection" calls start on the 3rd of the month.  This only started in June of 2011 for us, but we get multiple phone calls from BofA telling us we need to pay "now", and that our payment is due on the 1st.  We tell them we will be paying on the 8th, but they're not appeased and continue to call.  I made the payment online first thing this morning and still got 3 calls today.  Our mortgage is current, we're not late, we pay within the grace period or on the first of the month, so this is extraordinarily frustrating. My husband asked them what had changed in the last two months for BofA and why were they aggressively trying to collect money, and why do they offer a grace period and still end up calling to harass customers to pay an up to date account...there was nothing but dead air on the other end of the line.   I contacted my Senator about it and am filing a formal complaint.   You might want to do the same.

I am getting the same thing. I got angry and said I have always made my payments by the 15th and he says yes you have an excellent payment history. Then why the heck are you calling me. Report by jscholten Long ago Unknown
Actually, they start calling the day after the payment was due. I have a mortgage with BOA, and my payment is due on the 1st of the month; however, I always pay it on the 15th. Which if you look at their website when trying to shcedule a payment, late charges do not begin until the 16th. So I want to know why the hell they call me on the 2nd, when technically it's not even late until the 16th?? They call numerous times throughout the day, 7 days a week! I have been with them since they took over Countrywide, and for four years I have made my payment on the 15th. They just started harrassing this last month. I plan on going to the branch today to find out WTF!

We bought our home from a friend 4 years ago and paid them with a cashiers check for the full amount which we had saved over several years. We had the title transferred and have never had a mortgage with any company. We paid off a car with ford motor and our atv's with hsbc last fall. We bought a car in March but I think it is financed through first investors. We have used the same bank for 13 years which is a local credit union and we have no credit cards (trying to save up to buy some land and not have to finance it). With that being said, the only person I know that has an account with BoA is my sisters husband. Right now I have received 6 calls from them today-3 times 2 back to back calls each time. I had to turn my phone off while at work which caused me to miss very important calls from my childs doctor. I am extremely upset now and just want to know how to make this stop. I also find it offensive telling people to fess up to having an account with them and fess up to being late on their payments-obviously that isn't the case with everyone.

It's true, this is B of A and they do call the day you are late for the mortgage.  The problem is they call every couple of hours for days, leave no message, and no one is on the line when you answer it.  So there's no point in answering it.  It's really stupid of them not to leave a message or respond when you answer the call.  That part is harrassment I agree.  Unfortunately, we are being forced by B of A to withhold payment because of their screw up in the transition from Countrywide.  I simply note the call from caller ID, then ignore it.  Once in a while I try and answer again but like I said, there's never anyone on the other line.

I found a way to get rid of this people. you call them continously, as soon as they answer you hang up. do it for 20 minutes, once in while you let them know why're doing it. So every time they call you call them back 10-20 times. Actually I did something else, I had a program on my pc that could call them like 5 times in an instance for 1 hour. Every time they answered the phone a loud high pitch beeping noise would make them scream, also It jamed their lines. The next day I had the manager cal me threatining to take action, I said do that, I want to find out who you people are. Never heard from them. And now 5 years later I have recieved not a single anwanted phone call. It looks like they have all our informations when they call us. Do not trust anyone when they say your info is private, is not. I tested Verizon as well once, open a new account and gave my number to noone. I also requested the company to keep my number out of any listings. Few days later I recieve a call and a telemarketer asked for me, with my full name....

I found a way of avoiding and ridding myself of unwanted calls. My fax machine is plugged into my phone line in order to fax resumes.

Never give out your information though to anyone who calls you over the phone. If you know you have an account with them, call back the number they provided you on a bill. Tell the person calling you, thank you for notifying me, I will use the number given to me to deal with this matter.

Seek some legal advice.

ok, this is not true.

Look, it's our phone & we have the right to NOT answer our phones on Sunday or any other day if we don't want to talk to that person! It is NOT against the law if you don't answer your phone!

Sorry, Wes.  I didn't see your post.  I was responding to the guy above you.  But, you and I are on the same page and I agree with everything you said.  The only way to fight them is to have your own attorney.  I am so glad you got your interest rate and payments lowered.  It gives others hope to keep up the fight.  Thanks for posting such positive information.
Report by Sarah Long ago Unknown
Report by 70YR OLD RETIRED PERSON Long ago Unknown

Thanks!

I receive the calls everyday sometimes can be as many as 4 calls from them. It is absolutely ridiculous. They claim they are from BOA and want all of my info. I warned them about getting my attorney involved and repeatedly ask them to take me off the calling list but the attempts only result in more calls. I will have to report them.

It is Bank Of America! These (people) HA! are Harassing us.We don't even have an account with them! There is no reason why they should be calling us! I already filed complaints with FCC and BBB. I tried to call them with this # 1-800 432-1000(you get a live person) and the auto 1-800-669-0102. They wanted all my info.I told them if you have my # then you have my info! They said they can't help me then....well I'm getting a lawyer. This is prank calling harassment, since I don't have an account with them. And I'm thinking about calling the news too!  Everybody do the same....

I don't even have a loan thru then, nor have I ever applied for one. yet, just today; I get a call from 800-669-0102 @ 8:05am, 11:11 am , 11:52 am and 12:16 pm. (This has been happening for MONTHS) I have already filed an official complaint with the FCC and I encourage everyone is to do them same.  FCC.gov   FYI - Countrywide also has a "Do Not Solicit Dept" although they certainly are NOT doing their jobs!!

It's Country Wide Loans most likely calling about your account past due.

Like many of you, we have received the recorded messages. I've had our cell phones and home phone listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.  If you haven't registered your phone numbers, I suggest you do that now. Now, if you have registered & continue to get telemarketing/recorded msgs/etc... then you can go to the website at donotcall.gov & file a complaint against those companies calling you. This is what the the Complaint section on the donotcall.gov site reads:  "1.You may file a complaint if you received an unwanted call after your number was on the National Registry for 31 days.2. You may also file a complaint if you received a call that used a recorded message instead of a live person (whether or not your number was on the Registry). *Reminder: Even if your number is registered, charities, political organizations, and telephone surveyors may continue to call you. Companies with which you do business may also continue to call, unless you have asked them to stop calling you. If you have asked them to stop calling, please keep a record of the date you made the request and include information in the comment section of any complaint you submit against that company. Click Here for more information about the companies that may continue to call the numbers on the Registry." There are many states who have their own Do Not Call websites as well.  If you search online: the name of your state and do not call list, then you should find your State's website. OR you can go online, find your State Attorney General's office (or call him or her) about the calls being received to file a complaint. Trust me, no company wants a State Attorney General's office contacting them (and with the State's looking for money anywhere these days due to the poor economy, the State Atty Gen offices may have a fine to slap on these companies...)I know it is another step for us to take but it may help us, or someone else down the road, by filing the complaint. Trying to help and keep all of you informed. God Bless all of you!

This is the generic number for all of the outside lines from the naval bases in Pensacola, FL to include the hospital and NAS and Corry Station.  To call back you need to know the last 4 numbers of the extension that the person you need to talk to is at.  The call back number would be 850-452-XXXX ... xxxx being their direct extension.

This number, 850-452-0000, is one of the main trunk lines for calls coming from the Naval Hospital (or Family Clinic) in Pensacola. Another number from this is 850-505-0000.  The calls may be automated reminders or direct calls from one of their many extensions.

I keep getting calls from United Airlines Lost Baggage.   They call my counseling office's main number, then my extension.  They say, "This is United Airlines Baggage Claim and I have passenger number..."  I tell them this is not United and is a private counseling office.  (They also leave messages in my voice mail (don't listen to my outgoing message, which says I am a pyschotherapist, etc.) and STILL leave a message requesting a lost baggage trace.  This has been going on for three years.  One time I told the person who was calling that they had the wrong number, explaining what my office does, and they asked mME  for United Lost Baggage's number!

Yeah, I just happened to "stumble on this and thought it necessary to "interject".  I have never read so much a**-clown b***s*** in my life.  Ryan Murphy has been my sales rep at Sweetwater since 2006, when I spent about 16 grand building a home studio in Nashville Tennessee.#1 I think it's appalling that any particular person gets bashed for adhering to the policies set forth by their employers.  If you hadn't already figured it out, Ryan does NOT own the company.  Perhaps your issues are with Chuck Surack, the owner and CEO#2 If you don't like the way Sweetwater Sound conducts their business, why do business with the at all?!  Im sure (for your petter 50 buck purchase), Sweetwater will survive very nicely if you would just take your whiney little a** to Guitar Center dot com or any one of about a dozen other on-line retailers who sell pretty much the same merchandise for the same priceWe professional musicians appreciate reeceiving a call to confirm that we are getting EXACTLY what we expect to get.  Ryan has saved my a** on multiple occassions by informing me that (for example) the device I ordered requires special cables or a part that is not included.  Without such consciencious follow-up, I would have been unable to charge for services in a timely manner because a crucial piece of equipment would be useless without that "pesky" add-on that would actually enable me to USE IT.I hope taking his call didn't make y'all late for your job at McDonald's ... but I actually make my living by performing, producing, teaching, doing live sound, etc., etc.Whan I have been contracted to work on a tour for a platinum selling artist, I need to be prepared and Ryan makes sure I always have everything I need.  We have developed a relationship based on trust and mutual respect to the point that if he were to leave Sweetwater, I would encourage him to take my business with him.One day I hope you will all learn that those of us who are old enough to remember when there was no such thing as on-line ordering, well... we appreciate having a human being who (at the very least) will bend over backwards to assist us in the unlikely even something does go wrong.  PLEASE buy your musical gear at Best Buy, 'cause they are not a professional music store and you are not a professional musician/  Nuff said!

I placed an order for an inexpensive and self-explanatory item. It retailed for around $50. It was nothing special at all. I did not require any customer service, sales support, or technical assistance. But just 10 minutes after the order was placed, I received a call from "Ryan", an employee at Sweetwater.Well, it turns out he was calling (as a courtesy) to confirm that he received my order. (?!?) At that point, I became confused as to what was happening. Why would an order for such a low-risk and self-explanatory item need to be confirmed? Who does this? Almost nobody!Ryan Murray of Sweetwater then told me that the shipping would be free (which I had already known), no signature would be required (which I had already known), and that my order would be delivered in about three business days or so (which I had already known). All of the above-mentioned were readily and clearly apparent during the simple and fast online checkout process.Ryan Murray asked me whether I had any questions at all. And I told him that I did. I asked Ryan Murray why I received any phone call in the first place. Ryan Murray claimed that Sweetwater calls to confirm ALL Internet orders. (!) And he asked me whether I would prefer to continue to receive these so-called confirmatory phone calls.I told Ryan Murray that Sweetwater does not need to confirm any of my orders with me over the phone. But, as if that were not enough, Ryan Murray insisted in asking whether I was certain that Sweetwater should no longer make any future order-confirmation phone calls. I of coursed re-confirmed (!) that I do not want to receive any order-confirmation phone calls in the future. To make matters worse, Ryan Murray stated that an order of mine may not go through "as how I want it" unless Sweetwater initiates an order-confirmation phone call.In all, when one does not turn a spammer away, eventually it may escalate into up-selling or seasonal sales calls (per complaints from customers against Sweetwater as easily found on the Internet). I do not want a more expensive item, an upgrade, or an add-on. But Sweetwater wants more profitable sales apparently.See, when I turn to the Internet for shopping, I appreciate the fact that I am not badgered by salespersons, especially the ones who "groom" the customer.I assume the executives at Sweetwater came up with this nonsense about the salesperson-initiated order confirmation calls. So, shame on the Sweetwater executives for making the employees perform revenue-generating, unnecessary, overzealous, and overwrought spam phone calls disguised as customer service/order confirmation. To some this is viewed as badgering and high-pressure.Please be aware that I had *no* opportunity to opt-out of these order confirmation phone calls when I was placing my order. If I had been given a chance to opt-out, then I would have clicked the opt-out button. And by right, each and every customer should have to *opt-in* first.I am most certainly not alone in filing this complaint.(#1)"i hate having some sweetwater rep call me after every order or web purchase. that drives me crazy... I use to be in sales...never again."(#2)"The up-selling. You can't just buy something. They Sweetwater ask you if you want a microphone or a plug in or a new computer etc. Also, they call you randomly throughout the year, trying to get you to buy more things. They are like telemarketers."(#3)"My Sweetwater rep doesn't call me after orders (he usually sends and email instead) but will call me every 3 or 4 months to see if I need anything. I don't know why he bothers as I don't really buy much from there..."(#4)"They used to do this to me, too. It's very annoying when you work at a busy studio where the phone is often very busy and it's important to keep the lines free. In my situation, these calls seemed particularly superfluous."(#5)"I've heard people talk about this before and my advice would be to request a different representative or just tell the one you have how you feel."I complained via e-mail to make certain that there is a written record of my preference (opt-out) in case Ryan Murray of Sweetwater failed to input my preference into his end of my account.Unfortunately, Ryan Murray sent an *INAPPROPRIATE* follow-up email to my complaint."Hey XXXXX, I received your email the first time, but I wasn't sure if you wanted a response. We call our customers to confirm their orders for a few reasons.1. It helps prevent millions of dollars in fraudulent orders each year.2. It helps us make sure the customers are really getting the product that will solve their problem.3. It helps us build a relationship with the customer. This is something that 99% of the customers we talk to really appreciate.4. It gives the customers a point of contact in case they have questions or concerns. It puts a face to the website. Most companies just take your money and process an order. If you prefer to just be treated as an order, and not as a customer, then we can surely process your orders in that fashion in the future.Ryan MurraySweetwater Sales Engineer1-800-222-4700 ext. 1311"The last bullet-point was outstandingly nasty and cocky. So, we'll start with that one first."4. If you prefer to just be treated as an order, and not as a customer, then we can surely process your orders in that fashion in the future."I most certainly do *not* prefer to be treated as just an order, not a person! However, you must understand that I prefer to initiate the communication. I'd prefer to contact customer service according to my own preference and during at a convenient time. Why is this so apparently difficult for you to appreciate and most importantly RESPECT? When I need help, I'll ask for it. OK?If each and every order I placed on the Internet were to be followed up with a pesky call by a salesperson/service-rep like Ryan, then I would have received about 1,000+ phone calls per year. Sweetwater is the one and only website I have encountered which initiates these superfluous sales calls which they disguise as customer service. There needs to be an opt-in process as explained here in the link."3. It helps us build a relationship with the customer. This is something that 99% of the customers we talk to really appreciate.""He uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts--for support rather than illumination." Andrew LangYou must give all customers a *fair* opportunity to opt-out before reaching that conclusion."2. It helps us make sure the customers are really getting the product that will solve their problem."Pre-sales after the sale? That was *not* the purpose of your phone call. You did not ask me what my needs were or whether the item I had purchased would resolve them. But given that the item I purchased was so stupid, cheap, and easy to use, item #2 is moot."1. It helps prevent millions of dollars in fraudulent orders each year."Complete nonsense. My billing address matched my shipping address. My shipping address matched my billing address. My phone number matched the number on file with Discover Card. The CV2 code matched as well. Moreover, I'm familiar with these addresses verification systems and they can be configured to work in an automated manner. If anything is flagged, then it will be reviewed manually. Nothing about my transaction was to be flagged. It was a low-risk item which was going to an address which matched the address on account with Discover Card.Even worse, this was a Christmas present for someone. When I answered the phone call, my answering machine had picked up at the same time and the friend of the intended recipient of this present heard the entire phone call!I would have marked my order as "gift" if Sweetwater had given a prior warning about spamcall.I would like to switch to a new salesperson. And I - the customer - will INITIATE all communications.

Only Ripoff Report does. The best part is the Ripoff Report WILL NOT remove any complaint against Sweetwater or any business. So, don't worry about your complaint getting removed or unnoticed.

Got two calls from this number on my cell today.  They didn't leave a message. I called back to ask them to remove me from call list and got staggered dial tone/busy signal. Weird.

Every day multiple times.  Sometimes it goes to voicemail - other times not.  Eats up my cell minutes.

SPAM CALLER. Call to say my insurance approved. I have never inquired about discount insurance. They refuse to remove my number from their call list & promised to make a lot more calls. They call from a different number each time.

They call non-stop. They are very rude but now i'm to the point where I act interested and just put them on hold until they get upset and hang up.  I hoping if I'm a bigger pain than they are they will stop
